Arrive New York. Evening: Suggested activity: Fiddler on the Roof based on the original staging by Jerome Robbins


Friday 14 October


House of Worth, “Lily Dress” evening dress, black velvet with application of ivory silk in the form of lilies, embroidered with pearls and sequins, 1896



Morning: Private guided tour, led by a museum curator, of 40 extraordinary fashions and accessories from the fabulous wardrobe of Élisabeth de Caraman-Chimay, Countess Greffuhle (1860-1952), one of Diaghilev's most influential patrons, at the Fashion Institute of Technology Museum.

Afternoon at leisure. 630 pm: Meet a New York City Ballet dancer, who will give you a personal guided tour of the David H Koch theatre, NYCB's home. Pre-performance talk. 8pm: New York City Ballet: Jerome Robbins' masterpiece Dances at a Gathering, Firebird (Balanchine)

Saturday 15 October

Morning at leisure. 1230 pm: Meet a New York City Ballet Orchestra musician and learn more about the crucial role of the orchestra. Pre-performance talk. 2 pm: New York City Ballet: New Lovette, New Lopez Ochoa, New Walker, New Peck, Everywhere We Go (Peck). These new creations team leading young choreographers with internationally acclaimed fashion designers. Evening at leisure. Suggested activity: Cats starring New York City Ballet's Georgina Pazcoguin


Sunday 16 October

Morning at leisure. 1 pm: Tour of New York City Ballet's wardrobe department led by one of the wardrobe staff. Pre-performance talk. 3 pm: New York City Ballet: Glass Pieces (Robbins), Thou Swell (Martins) set to music by Gershwin, Balanchine's rousing and fun celebration of Americana, Stars and Stripes. Check out of hotel and depart New York.
