Intro to Baroque Dance classes in Toronto

TUESDAYS' BAROQUE DANCE AFTERNOON SALON at Dance Teq Centre, 226 Queen Street West, Toronto, M5V 1Z6

Have you ever wondered how Ballet evolved? What were the Minuet and the Sarabande (perhaps one more dance depending on how fast the class progresses)? How do we know what the dance steps and styles were before the invention of film? Why are the terms of today's ballet still overwhelmingly in French?
Spend an afternoon each week learning the answers to these questions by exploring the social and stage dances of the 17th and 18th Centuries with Opera Atelier veteran dancer Jeremy Nasmith. A perfect class for any level of dance experience (including none!) and a gentle workout.
Tuesdays 1:15 - 2:15 PM, 6 classes starting February 17
$80 including HST for the course*

Attire:  (barring corset, paniers, and a powdered wig) ballet wear is just fine.

About the teacher: Jeremy Nasmith's stage career spans more than 25 years, making him a fixture of Toronto's performing arts scene. His wide-ranging professional affiliations include Opera Atelier, The National Ballet of Canada, the Canadian Opera Company, ProArteDanza, Ballet Jorgen Canada, Hit & Run Productions, DNA Theatre and the Toronto Chamber Choir.
